The Jets conclude their three game home stand against the San Jose Sharks before heading out east to see Montreal, Ottawa, Buffalo and New York. This morning we found out that Dustin Byfulgien was not quite ready to play, but coach was confident that he would be available for Thursday’s game. The San Jose Sharks are coming off of a 3-2 overtime win against Arizona and are riding a 7 game win streak. They’re starting a western-Canadian road trip in Winnipeg before heading out to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. This morning it was announced that Erik Karlsson would not be in the lineup tonight, he has been out for the last four games for undisclosed reasons.

Last Sharks Game

On February 2nd, the San Jose Sharks met up with the Arizona Coyotes for the fourth time this season in their first game back from the bye week. The game saw most of its goals scored within the second period with an unassisted shot from Connor Garland at the midpoint of the period, followed up by two from Sharks Lebanc and Pavelski within less than a minute of each other, putting them in the lead. In the third period, Josh Archibald tied it up and brought it into overtime and Brent Burns brought closed it out in favor of the Sharks.

Sharks Notebook:

  • The Sharks recently saw their 1000th win in franchise history on January 10th against the Vegas Golden Knights
  • 2018 draft pick Zachary Emond currently leads Canadian Hockey League goaltenders in not only save percentage (.930), shutouts (6) as well as goals against average (1.79)

Jets Player To Watch

#28 – Jack Roslovic – Center

You’ll be in good company keeping an eye on Jack Roslovic, as if overnight it seems the rest of the league has realized what a gem we have on our hands. Roslovic is currently sitting at 20 on TSN’s Trade Bait list with no place to go but up after Saturday’s game which saw him net his first NHL hat-trick. Roslovic was moved up to cover for Nik Ehlers after an injury last month and has really come into his own playing in that slot, grabbing 6 points in the last five games alone.

Last Jets Game

With a final score of 9-3, the Jets absolutely demolished the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday and it was fun! The re-watchable factor is huge on this game, especially for any fans who lived through the 2015 playoff series with the Ducks. This game had it all, a new franchise record for goals scored within a period, Jack Roslovic’s first NHL hat-trick and an arena quacking at the opposing team. Goals rained in from Copp, Wheeler, Little, Lemieux, Myers and Roslovic with the hat-trick. Within the first period, the Ducks had marked their third straight loss.

Jets Notebook:

  • Jack Roslovic was named the NHL’s first star for the week ending February 3rd. Roslovic tied the league lead in scoring, and recorded his first NHL hat-trick.
  • Tonight’s game will be coach Paul Maurice’s 1500th game.
