With last week’s four game homestand in the rear-view mirror, the Jets begin a four game road trip as they hit the west coast. The Canucks will be looking for revenge in this game after the Jets won their first meeting in October by a 4-1 score.

Jets Notebook

  • Coming off a successful four game homestand where they went 3-0-1, the Jets are looking to do the same on the road as they have four straight games against Western Conference opponents.
  • Dustin Byfuglien led the way during the first game between these two teams with a goal and two assists. Little and Ehlers chipped in two points during that game as well.
  • The Winnipeg Jets have been putting on a powerplay clinic as of late with the number one unit in the league. The quick strike ability is astonishing as they have multiple goals that have come within 8 seconds of gaining the man advantage.
  • It’s been the top line who has led the way recently as Wheeler accrued eight points during the four game homestand while Scheifele had four goals and three assists. Once the other lines begin to figure things out, the Jets will be well on their way towards becoming the offensive juggernaut people expected.

Canucks Notebook

  • The special teams battle is going to be a key factor as the Canucks are in the bottom half of the league in both their penalty kill and their powerplay. The Jets are the opposite as they are first in the league on the powerplay and twelfth on the penalty kill.
  • Rookie sensation Elias Pettersson has been the Canucks’ best player to begin the season. With eleven goals in only sixteen games, he’s blowing the other rookies out of the water and appears to be running away as the Calder favorite.
  • The Canucks are wrapping up a two game homestand against Winnipeg and are off to California later this week where they play the dreaded three games in four nights against the Ducks, Sharks, and Kings. While this trip would have been remarkably tougher a few seasons ago, it still presents a difficult challenge within the Pacific Division.
  • Speaking of the Pacific Division, the Canucks are currently sitting in third place behind San Jose and Calgary. For a team that have had a few rough years, a return to the playoffs would be a great achievement for the organization.
