Your Winnipeg Jets take the ice against the Edmonton Oilers for the first time since the holiday break. If you see anyone skating extra slow on the ice tonight, they probably had too much turkey.
Lets take a look at how the Jets stack up against the Oilers.

December 27, 2017 – Puck drop: 7:00 PM CST
Bell MTS Place – Winnipeg, MB.
TV: Sportsnet – Radio: TSN 1290

Recently for the Jets…

The Jets entered the break 1-1-1, with a 5-2 loss against the Islanders. This wasn’t the Christmas present people were hoping for, but onward the Jets march.
Tucker Poolman scored his first NHL goal against the Islanders, the rookie has been a bit of a revelation for the Jets during his rookie campaign.
The Jets will need tonight to continue to establish a strong presence at home as 6 of the next 10 games are on the road and 7 of the previous 10 games were on the road as well.
Currently, the Jets are still without Dustin Byfuglien and Toby Enstrom.

Recently for the Oilers…

The Oilers lost Oscar Klefbom to injury, which will hamper their ability to contain the Jets. However, the Oilers are still on a 4 game win streak, with their latest being a 4-1 win against the Canadiens.
This is the first time in a while that the Oilers have been at .500 and will continue to try to claw their way back into the playoff conversation.
Connor Mcdavid sits at 43 points and will be more than just a little handful for the Jets’ injured blue line.

Recently between both teams…

The Jets and Oilers have already face each other once this season, with the Jets beating the Oilers 5-2 in Edmonton. The two teams will face each other a 3rd and final time in 4 days, on New Year’s Eve.
Nik Ehlers scored a hat trick against the Oilers, and will look to continue dominating Pacific teams tonight.
Since the Jets moved back to Winnipeg, they have had a 7-7-0 record against the Oilers.

Game Day Prediction

I’m predicting a Jets win for this game. They have had such a strong home presence that despite having a mediocre December, the Jets should be able to hang on to win their game against the Oilers. Connor Mcdavid will give the Jets some problems, so I’m predicting a 5-4 win for the Jets.
