JGD Preseason #3: McJesusless Oilers come into town

It seemed just like yesterday that the Winnipeg Jets were opening training camp. Now we are already looking at the third game. How far we’ve come.
Anyways, a near-optimal Jets line up will host a McDavidless Oilers, almost the ying to Wednesday’s yang.
Let’s take a look at the rosters for tonight’s game…
Winnipeg Jets
Forwards:
Drew Stafford- Mark Scheifele-Blake Wheeler
Mathieu Perreault-Adam Lowry-Nikolaj Ehlers
Nic Petan-Andrew Copp-Chris Thorburn
Brendan Lemieux-Chase De Leo-JC Lipon
Defense:
Tobias Enstrom-Ben Chiarot
Mark Stuart-Jacob Trouba
Josh Morrissey-Jay Harrison
Goalies:
Ondrej Pavelec
Connor Hellebuyck
The Jets dress two of their top-three lines while Nikolaj Ehlers remains the front runner for the Jets lone open top-nine spot. Interestingly, Petan moves to wing which coach Paul Maurice says opens his chance to more possible NHL roster possibilities.
Chiarot plays on his offside, likely as part training for when the Jets double shift Trouba with Dustin Byfuglien in the third period so Chiarot will play the odd sheltered shift with Stuart.
Morrissey comes in and will likely get some power play time.
Expect Pavelec to play the full 60 minutes, although Hellebuyck may get the later period. Maurice likes to use the preseason to warm up his NHL goalies.
Edmonton Oilers:
Forwards:
Hall-Draisaitl-Korpikoski
Slepyshev-Lander-Yakupov
Klinkhammer-Miller-Pitlick
McRae-Khaira-Gazdic
Defense:
Sekera-Fayne
Nikitin-Musil
Hunt-Davidson
Goalies:
Scrivens
Nilsson
While there is no McDavid, there is still a tonne of former lottery selection picks and talent. The Oilers will be dressing a lot more talent than the Jets did in Edmonton.

PREDICTIONS

Game Day Prediction: Jets win 4-2.
Obvious Prediction: I will tweet out #herecomestheoilers at one point or another.
Not So Obvious Prediction: Pavelec and Scrivens each let in a quick two goals in the first half of the first period and we see Nilsson vs Hellebuyck (sure, why not?).
