JGD 65: Post Trade Deadline Fallout

Cam Farquharson

The Jets lace up their skates for the first time since the trade deadline as the team pushes for a playoff spot in the west. Time is against the Jets as game 82 is coming quickly and they need to string together a significant amount of wins. This is the first of a back-to-back for the Jets as they continue a 6 game home stand. The Blues lost the last four games they played in.
The Jets have beaten the Blues every game so far this season. Lets see how the teams stack up.

Lineups

Winnipeg Jets (28-30-6)

Defensive Pairings

Tobias Enstrom

Dustin Byfuglien

Josh Morrissey

Jacob Trouba

Paul Postma
Jacob Trouba draws back in to the lineup after serving his suspension, this will give the Jets added balance to the defence. Marko Dano and Andrew Copp look to draw back into the lineup after being on the injured reserve.
Patrik Laine leads all rookies with 56 points and is tied in rookie goal scoring with Austin Matthews with 31 goals. Laine and Scheifele are tied for points in the NHL since February 14, only behind Filip Forsberg.
You will notice that Nic Petan is not in the line up as Paul Maurice feels that having Chris Thorburn playing gives he Jets a better chance to win. This is not a good sign for a team trying to push for the playoffs.
As of right now, expect Connor Hellebuyck to get the nod in net.

St. Louis Blues (31-26-5)
Defensive Pairings

Jay Bouwmeester

Alex Pietrangelo

Carl Gunnarsson

Colton Parayko

Joel Edmundson

Jordan Schmaltz
The Blues are living in a post Kevin Shattenkirk era as they look to hold on to their wild card spot. The Blues will look to Tarasenko to power them to their first win against the Jets this season. Tarasenko has 10 points in his last 7 games against the Jets. Patrik Berglund has 5 goals on the road in the month of February.
Blues fans will get to see newly acquired forward, Zach Sanford, in his first game as a member of the Blues. Sanford was included in the Shattenkirk deal that sent Shattenkirk to Washington.
Jake Allen will start in net. Allen is 2-0-0 at the MTS Centre with a GAA of 2.50 and a save percentage of .924.
