JGD 58: Jets’ close road trip in Florida (sorry for being late)

Hey, we had a bit of a miscommunication at Jets Nation headquarters so there was no real preview. Instead, here is a late Garret preview.
The Winnipeg Jets are looking to split their four game road trip with a win in Florida. Meanwhile, many fans are hoping for a hard fought loss to push the Jets towards a better draft pick.

WINNIPEG (25-28-4)
With Bryan Little out with injury the Jets centre looks a little bit weaker, but have no fear, Mattheiu Perreault is here! Perreault is a fairly underrated centre, and should mesh well with the young Nikolaj Ehlers and the speedy Blake Wheeler.
The ironic thing about the Mark Stuart injury is that this is likely the closest thing to optimal defensive pairings the Jets could have, depending on your opinion of Ben Chiarot versus Adam Pardy. Pardy has been stronger than Chiarot in sheltered minutes but struggles moving up, but is also a fairly strong penalty killer. Paul Postma meanwhile is extraordinarily underrated and is one of the Jets strongest power play options.
Connor Hellebuyck we miss you.
Florida Panthers (33-18-7)
Here is the Panthers line up. They used to be a paper tiger, but have been growing stronger in underlying metrics as well. They should be buyers! Their line up looks like they could use a two-time, with two different teams, Stanley Cup winner and gritty winger… we can offer a slightly used Andrew Ladd for a playoff push. 😉

Predictions

Game Day Prediction: Jets win, because Jets are Jets and will not give the fans a top 3 pick.
Obvious Prediction: Ondrej Pavelec makes a highlight reel save, only because he was out of position in the first place. (yes, even though Hutchinson is playing)
Not So Obvious Prediction: Andrew Ladd is traded to the Panthers in the second intermission, and swap jerseys.
