JGD 15: Into the Desert to Face the Coyotes

Dustin Mymko
The Jets come off an 8-2 thumping of the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night to begin a back-to-back/three-games-in-four-days situation again. The Coyotes come into the game having won three out of four, including a 4-2 win over Colorado two nights ago.
These Coyotes are a bunch of young up-and-comers, much like the Jets. Max Domi (son of Tie) notched a goal and two assists against the Avs on Tuesday and now leads the team with 10 points in 12 games (1G, 9A). Linemates Anthony Duclair and Christian Dvorak have been exciting early this season, 21 year old defenceman Anthony Deangelo scored in his NHL debut the other night, and young stud Oliver Ekman-Larrson has 5 goals in 12 games.
Puck drops at 8pm Winnipeg time and will be televised on TSN3 and broadcast over the air on TSN1290. We’ll take a look at the projected lines after the jump.

Game Notes:

  • The Jets currently feature the league’s leading goal scorer (Patrik Laine, 11) and the league’s leading points scorer (Mark Schiefele, 18).
  • Connor Hellebuyck makes his third straight start. This marks the first time coach Paul Maurice has started the same goaltender three games in a row.
  • Newly signed defenceman Jacob Trouba will not suit up for the first time this season. Coach indicated in his pre-game interview that there is a good chance that he will dress tomorrow in Colorado. It sounded like Maurice felt like sticking with the same lineup that smoked the Stars was a good idea.
