Jets Prospects World Junior Championship Recap – Day 4

Of the 30 NHL
teams, Winnipeg leads the league in prospects taking part in this year’s
tournament. The have six future Jets representing their countries in the most
exciting tournament of the year.

Below are all six
prospects and what they have done for their countries in the past two days. A
few have played two games while just one has played a single game at this point
of the tournament.

Nic Petan – 

Canada continued its dominant start to
the 2015 tournament with a 4-1 victory over last year’s gold medal winner,
Finland. Unfortunately Petan was held off the score sheet in Canada’s third
game. Petan still leads the tournament in scoring with six points (1g, 5a) in 3
games.

Josh Morrissey – 

The Calgary-born rearguard has been one
of Canada’s most consistent defencemen this year. In Canada’s 4-1 victory
Morrissey would add a helper to his tournament tota, putting him at two assists
in three games.

Eric Comrie – 

Comrie would sit for Canada in the
countries third game of the tournament, but may return between the pipes for
Canada’s New Year’s Eve game against the United States in a battle for first
place..

Chase De Leo – 

The young centre from La Miradra,
Califronia was held off the score sheet in America’s last two games against
Germany and Slovakia. He will hope to find his scoring touch in the United
States’ next game against Canada on New Year’s Eve.

Nikolaj Ehlers – 

Ehlers had a strong game in Denmark’s
third round-robin game, which was a 4-3 overtime loss to the Czech Republic. He
would add a pair of assists to his tournament point total, putting him at 3
(1g, 2a).

Jan Kostalek – 

Kostalek and his Czech teammates bounced back
with a 4-3 overtime victory after losing their first two games of the
tournament. The defenceman scored the Czech Republic’s second goal of the game Monday
afternoon.
