Jets Nation Recap: Winnipeg Jets leave Edmonton with a five game win streak

The Jets continue amassing wins and bring their current streak up to four-in-a-row.
The Winnipeg Jets went into Edmonton and turned the away game into a home game. They dominated early, got on the score board, and got the visiting Jets fans loud and excited.
The Jets brought it to the Oilers early, pouring the shots at Ben Scrivens. Eventually the dam collapsed, with Drew Stafford picking up his 16th of the season.
The Jets did not stop there. The momentarily put their foot off the gas, only to pick it up once again in the second. The Jets experienced long moments in the Oilers defensive zone and picked up another two goals, these from Lee Stempniak and Tyler Myers.
Early in the third Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his 23rd of the season, but it was too late. Michael Frolik scored the insurance goal with eight minutes remaining off of fortunate bounce.
Let’s break it down.

Three Keys

#Whatdidchevydotoday – All four goals were scored by Kevin Cheveldayoff additions over the last two seasons. Every one of Cheveldayoff’s additions from this season picked up a point and combined they factored on every goal.
Pavelectric (Again) – Ondrej Pavelec is still on a roll. He stopped all but one of the 34 shots on goal created by the Oilers. There were a few moments, but for the most part Pavelec looked comfortable and poised in the net.
Reverse score effects – The Jets experienced a bit of a different effect late in today’s game. Usually with score effects, shot attempts increase but scoring chances per attempt decreases. In this case the opposite happened. Not sure if it was the Jets or the Oilers, but good on Pavelec to shut them down.
