Day Six is here and it brought us the final games of the Group Stages! All Jets Prospects and their teams were in action today.
Who are these prospects I speak of?

Read our Jets At The Juniors Preview!

In Today’s action, the Czech Republic took on Switzerland, Team Finland played Team USA, Denmark faced off against Slovakia, and Russia matched up with Sweden.

Game Scores

Czech Republic def. Switzerland 6-3
United States def. Finland 5-4
Slovakia def. Denmark 5-1
Sweden def. Russia 4-3 (SO)

Kristian Vesalainen

Vesalainen had his best offensive showing of the tournament so far against the USA, putting up 1G, 1A, for 2 points. He played 16:24, and put 3 shots on goal. Finland fell 5-4 to the United States, and will play the Czech Republic in the Quarterfinals.

Dylan Samberg

Samberg was on the winning side of that Finland/USA game, and put in 20 minutes of ice-time on his way to victory. Team USA will play Russia in the Quarterfinals.

Mikhail Berdin

I’m trying to avoid sounding like a broken record here, but Berdin took his spot in the press box as Russia took on Sweden today. As mentioned before, Berdin looks to stay there unless an injury takes place.

Groups, Quarterfinals Set

While we already knew that Canada had clinched first in Group A, there was much to be decided today. After tonight’s games, all match-ups were resolved. With Sweden holding Russia off, and Russia failing to win in regulation, Sweden clinched first in Group B, and Russia clinched 3rd in Group B. That also solidified the Czech Republic into the 2nd spot. Over in Group A, Team USA defeated Finland to lock up the second spot, and put Finland into third. Slovakia rounds out the Group in fourth place.

Quarterfinal Matchups

(1A) Canada v. Switzerland (4B)
(1B) Sweden v. Slovakia (4A)
(2A) United States v. Russia (3B)
(2B) Czech Republic v. Finland (3A)

Relegation Matchup

Denmark v. Belarus

Anyway, it’s December 31st! Happy New Year, Jets Fans! From all of us here at JetsNation!
