The Fifth Day of the World Junior Championships has rolled around, and there was only one Jets prospect in action.

Four games were on tap today, and the first group clinching opportunity has arisen. Slovakia took on Finland, Sweden matched up with Switzerland, the Czech Republic met Belarus, and Canada played Denmark.

Game Scores

Finland def. Slovakia 5-2
Sweden def. Switzerland 7-2
Czech Republic def. Belarus 6-5
Canada def. Denmark 8-0

Kristian Vesalainen

Team Finland had a date with the ever-pesky Team Slovakia today, and came out with a 5-2 victory. Vesalainen had 1 shot on goal over 19:16 of ice-time. The Finns are right back at it tomorrow, as they play the United States in their final group stage game.

Group A Locked Up

After defeating Denmark 8-0 today, Canada has clinched top spot in Group A. The remainder of the group remains to be set. With Finland playing the USA tomorrow, and Slovakia playing Denmark, spots 2,3, and 4 in the group can still shuffle.
