The Winnipeg Jets carry some OVER trends into the second leg of back-to-back games, where they face a strong team which seems to be coming out of a slump. The Jets are +175 away underdogs while the Boston Bruins are -210 home favourites with a 6.0-goal total on the NHL odds for Thursday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Jets, who are coming off a 4-3 shootout win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday, are 11-6 in their last 17 games when they also played the previous day. They are 12-5 in their last 17 away games against the Atlantic Division with the total finishing OVER 11 times, but have a 4-8 record in their last 12 away games as a +150 to +180 moneyline underdog at online sports betting sites. The Bruins are 11-5 in their last 16 home games as a -200 to -250 favourite and are also 11-7 in their last 18 home games against the Central Division.

Jets at Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Jets are 24-16-4, including a 14-6 record as a road underdog. The team’s offense spearheaded by centers Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler has been proficient lately, averaging 3.57 goals in Winnipeg’s last seven away games, even though the Jets are 24th in the 31-team NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage. Winnipeg is 17th in goals scored (3.05 per game) and 14th in goals against (3.02). The Jets’ power play is ranked 13th (20.0 percent). The penalty killing unit is 31st and last (73.0).
Backup goalie Laurent Brossoit, who has a 4-4-0 record with a 3.50 goals-against average and .889 save percentage, is expected to start for the Jets. Brossoit has a 3.04 GAA and .904 save percentage in six road games this season.
The Bruins are 25-8-11 and are coming off a 6-2 road win against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday that ended a three-game winless slide. Boston has one of the NHL’s deepest defense corps and the offence is largely reliant on perhaps the league’s best line consisting of center of Patrice Bergeron and wings Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. The Bruins rank 15th in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (49.9 percent) Boston is ninth in goals scored (3.32 per game) and second in goals against (2.43). The Bruins’ power play is ranked third (27.5 percent) and the penalty killing unit is ranked second (85.0).
Boston’s No. 1 goalie, Tuukka Rask, has a 16-4-6 record with a 2.29  goals-against average and .924 save percentage, including a 2.16 / .930 split over his last five games. Backup Jaroslav Halak could get the start for this non-conference matchup but he has also been stellar with a 9-4-5 record, 2.25 GAA and .928 save percentage.
Following this game, Winnipeg has a two-day break before hosting the division rival Nashville Predators on Sunday to begin a three-game homestand.
