Jets sign Daniel Torgersson, Henri Nikkanen to entry-level contracts

The Winnipeg Jets announced on Monday that they have signed forward prospects Daniel Torgersson and Henri Nikkanen to three-year entry-level contracts.
Both contracts will carry NHL cap hits of $925,000 when they take effect next season. Both Torgersson and Nikkanen have signed professional tryout deals with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and will report to the club for the rest of 2021–22.
Torgersson, 20, was selected by the Jets in the second round (40th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. The 6’3″ left-shooting winger has impressed with AIK IF of Sweden’s second-tier HockeyAllsvenskan league, scoring seven goals and 17 points in 40 games with the club this season.
Nikkanen, 20, was the Jets’ fourth-round pick (113th overall) at the 2019 NHL Draft. A 6’4″ centre who shoots left, Nikkanen has been a mainstay in the top-level Liiga in Finland over the last two seasons and most recently scored 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 60 games with the Lahti Pelicans in 2021–22.
