Juggling their lines entering a game against a possibly leg-weary team gives the Winnipeg Jets a chance to improve their shaky record on home ice.
The Jets are the -125 home favourite while the Vancouver Canucks are the +105 underdog with a 6.5-goal total on the NHL odds for Friday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Winnipeg is 2-8 over its last 10 home games, but the Canucks, who are playing for the second night in a row, are 6-14 in their last 20 games when they also played the previous day.
The total has gone UNDER in both Winnipeg’s last four games as a home favourite at betting sites and nine of Vancouver’s last 11 games as an away underdog.

Jakob Markstrom started for the Canucks on Thursday. But Vancouver’s backup goalie, Thatcher Demko, is 4-1-0 with a 1.78 goals-against average and .938 save percentage in five games this season.
The Jets, who are 8-7-1, have shuffled their two main forward lines, separating No. 1 center Mark Scheifele and captain Blake Wheeler. Scheifele is now with wings Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine, while the next trio up consists of Wheeler centering Nikolaj Ehlers and Jack Roslovic. That might provide a boost for a group that is 15th in the NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (50.38 per cent), but ranks 25th in goals per game (2.63) and 19th in goals against (3.13).
Special teams have been dodgy for Winnipeg, whose power play ranks 22nd (15.4 per cent) while the penalty killing is 30th (70.6), second-worst in the league.
Winnipeg has had two days since its last game, so Connor Hellebuyck, who is 6-5-1 with a 2.41 goals-against average and. 930 save percentage in 12 games this season, should be good to go in goal.
The Jets host the Dallas Stars on Sunday afternoon and then host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday to complete a four-game homestand.
