It’s been three seasons since the Winnipeg Jets were such a huge underdog on home ice, but their trends suggest it might be justified.
The Jets are +135 home underdogs while the Boston Bruins are -155 away favorites with a 6.0-goal total on the NHL odds for Friday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. It’s the largest moneyline the Jets have had as a home underdog since November 1, 2016, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, but they are only 6-10 in their last 16 games as a home underdog with the total finishing OVER 10 times. The Bruins are 12-4 in their last 16 away games against the Eastern Conference.

Both teams have games on Saturday. The Jets, who host the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, are 6-2 in their last eight games when they were also playing the next day, but the Bruins are 9-5 in their last 14 games when they play again the following day.
The Bruins are 29-10-12 this season, including a 10-6 mark as an away favorite at sports betting sites. Like the Jets, Boston is also playing its first game in over a week and their elite first line of center Patrice Bergeron and wings Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak should be fresh and ready to lead an attack that is 13th in the 31-team NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (50.5 percent).
