A spooky night for a team trying to get on a roll. The Jets had a penalty kill that went 6 for 6, apparently an apparition of a good penalty kill showed up tonight.
But, the Jets emerged victorious over the Wild 2-1.
To start off the game, the Jets had a goal waved off on a questionable call. Tyler Myers passed the puck to himself and the referees did not like what they saw. Maybe it was a ghost.
However, Kyle Connor would soon rectify this and score the first official goal of the game and his 2nd of the season. Side note, Connor is looking good on the top line with Scheifele and Wheeler. He was consistently making good plays that led to scoring chances.
The second period was a bit of a crazy period. The Jets took 4 penalties, but were able to kill them all. Hellebuyck continues to impress as the starting goaltender; he had to endure a lot of time under duress because of all of the penalties in the second period.
During their time shorthanded, the Jets had two great shorthanded chances, but were unable to convert them into goals.
Early on in the 3rd, Nik Ehlers intercepted a drop pass from Dumba and was able to deke Alex Stalock to put his 7th of the season in the back of the net. Ehlers had a decent game, he was especially noticeable running the powerplay from the half board.
Later in the 3rd, the Wild would come within one of the Jets when Kunin converted a feed from Staal. The ensuing onslaught would see Hellebuyck battling to keep the puck out of the net and he was successful in this endeavour.
The Jets beat the Wild 2-1.

As long as the Jets get .950+ goaltending, Maurice's gameplan works like a charm.
