Good morning,
afternoon and evening Jets fans! It is 5 O’Clock somewhere, but
hopefully the Jets’ play does not require you to drink more than a
couple glasses of certain beverages. Today’s game has Winnipeg play
its first game at home since the four game road trip against the
struggling 4-6-3 Philadelphia Flyers.
Lets take a quick look at what tonight’s game holds for us.

The Jets had a
decently successful road trip going 2-1-1 against their opponents.
Today sees the Jets briefly visiting home before they head back out
on the road for another 5 games.
During the 2014-15
season, the Flyers beat the Jets both times the teams met. This
season the Jets hope to write a different story.
Philadelphia has not
had a good start under new head coach Dave Hakstol. They are heading
into the MTS Centre at the end of a 5 game road trip that has seen
the Flyers go winless and spiral down on a 6 game losing streak.
The Jets have yet to
lose 2 games in a row and will endeavour to continue with that stat
by beating the Flyers today.
Tonight is also
Hockey Fights Cancer night at the MTS Center. Cancer has affected
everyone’s life in one way or another and it is pretty cool to see
hockey teams come together to fundraise for cancer research, care
facilities, and local charities. Here is a link for more information

LINEUPS
Winnipeg Jets (8-4-2)

Forward Nic Petan
will not be in the line up today, as he is out with an undisclosed
illness. Look for Patrice Cormier to replace Petan in the line up.
Also Paul Postma is in the line up on the blue line for his first
game of the season, taking Ben Chiarot’s spot in the lineup.. Expect Pavelec to get the start.
Philadelphia Flyers (4-6-3)

Sam Gagner draws into the lineup in replacement of Vincent Lecavalier, who will be a healthy scratch. Dave Hakstol has given the nod to Michael Neuvirth for the start against the Jets.
PREDICTIONS
Game Day Prediction:
Today is a special night at the MTS Centre and the Jets. Look for the
players to be extra motivated and make this home game count. The Jets
will win 4-2 against the struggling Flyers.
Obvious Prediction:
Paul Postma will immediately make an impact for the Jets, helping
shut down the Flyers 5v5 and bringing Mark Stuart’s possession
statistics above 50%, almost making Garret happy.
Not So Obvious
Prediction:
The Jets will unfortunately struggle with penalties again
and the Flyers will capitalize on the man advantage twice to put them
up early on. However, the Jets will score a goal in the 2nd
period and after a pep talk from Andrew Ladd, during the 2nd
intermission, the Jets will come out in the 3rd flying and
score 3 goals to win the game.
