It doesn’t look like there is much to slow down the Winnipeg Jets wagon right now. They have picked up at least a point in seven of the last eight games. The three lost points for the Jets have missed out on have come from far lesser teams in the Montreal Canadiens and the San Jose Sharks.
The Jets power play has been their weakest point so far this season. Head coach Rick Bowness would talk about the changes the coaching staff made to the first power play unit. Alex Iafallo will move up to right side bumper. Which moves Nikolaj Ehlers off the power play unit.
” Let’s go back to what was bringing us success earlier in the year.”- Rick Bowness
The penalty kill has been lack luster lately as well Bowness would talk about it after the loss to Montreal on Monday night. He would talk about two simple solutions to penalty kill issues, dump the puck and block shots. Two very doable things for the penalty killers.

JETS NATION PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Jets are 3-2 in their last five games against the Detroit Red Wings, and have out scored them 19-13 in that time. The Wings have dropped their last three games but are just one point removed from the final wild card spot in the eastern conference and have two games in hand over the final wild card holders the Tampa Bay Lightning.
James Reimer will get his second start of the season against the Jets. In the last game against Riemer would stop 25 of 28 shots. Over all this season the Morweena native has a 2-4-2 record and owns a 2.61 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.  If the Jets can run Reimer from the net former Jets goaltender Michael Hutchinson can step in as the back-up.
Bowness could confirm Jets back-up goaltender Laurent Brossoit will start for the team. The back-up is 3-2 in his last five games but has only allowed 11 goals against in that time. Overall this season he is 3-3-1 witha 2.57 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
Detroit is missing Ville Husso and Klim Kostin due to injuries while Olli Maatta is the healthy scratch. The Jets 5-on-5 lines will stay the same.
Projected Lineup:
Ehlers – Scheifele – Vilardi
Perfetti – Namestnikov – Iafallo
Niederreiter – Lowry – Appleton
Barron – Gustafsson – AJF
Morrissey – DeMelo
Dillon – Pionk
Samberg – Schmid
Brossoit (.903 SV%)
