JNGD.60 Flight Plan: If You Wanna Crown Them…
The last game of what has been a pretty successful ten game home stand that has seen the Jets go 6-2-1 happens tonight as the Jets will host the Los Angeles Kings.
Los Angeles Kings (31-22-5)
@
Winnipeg Jets (35-15-9)
February 20, 2018 – Puck drop: 7:00 PM CST
Bell MTS Place – Winnipeg, MB.
TV: TSN3 – Radio: TSN 1290
Recently for the Jets…
The Jets have been an offensive juggernaut the last couple of games, outscoring their opposition by a 13-3 score. Chances are if you name almost any Jet – especially any in the top six group of forwards – you’ll be able to spit out a set of offensive numbers that rangers from “good” (such as Brian Little with three points in his last three games) to “ridiculous” (Blake Wheeler with nine points in his last five games) .. Throw in some strong goaltending from Connor Hellebuyck and solid defense from a group without it’s number one player in Jacob Trouba, and suddenly Jets fans are asking the question.. Do they even need to make a trade? Things are really good in The Peg.
Recently for the Kings…
Los Angeles has won their last two games on the road – the last being a 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks last night – and are right in the thick of a hunt for third place in the pacific division. They have yet to string together three wins in a row since the calendar turned over to 2018, so they will be anxious to try and pick up a W tonight. Jonathan Quick was in goal for the Kings last night in Chicago, so the Jets will get the task of trying to beat Darcy Kuemper tonight. Kuemper has a 9-3-1 record this season with a .934 save percentage.
Recently between both teams…
This is the second of three meetings between the clubs this season, the last was back on November 22 where the Jets squeaked out a 2-1 win for their first regulation win in franchise history in Los Angeles. Steve Mason was in goal for that game, tonight Connor Hellebuyck gets his turn. Conor has had two previous games against the Kings and is 1-1-0 with an .892 save percentage.
