The Oilers blitzed the Jets for four third period goals and made the result of this game a laugher in the end, beating Winnipeg by a 6-2 score.
It’s kind of a shame that the game ended the way it did and that it means the Jets are still winless in the preseason, because the Jets played an okay first period and a pretty good second period, maybe the best they’ve had thus far in the preseason.
If the Jets are guilty of anything overly bad it’s the following two things:
1 – The kinda stopped skating after the Oilers fourth goal which came moments after a potential Jets third goal was waved off (see below) and you could just see the air go out of the Jets balloon at that point.
2 – They didn’t have a Connor McDavid.
Otherwise the Jets, for the lineup they sent out there tonight on the road did fairly well all things considered. The fact they had a poor third period is cause for concern. The fact they still have yet to score an even strength goal in four preseason game is a cause for greater concern.
But, it’s only preseason.. These games don’t matter…
Right?
