For the first time in franchise history – not just Winnipeg Jets 2.0 history, but FRANCHISE Thrashers & Jets history – the Winnipeg Jets have won a game in Los Angeles in regulation time. It wasn’t easy, but Steve Mason willed the Jets to the franchise first in a 2-1 win over the Kings.
Quite a few Jets had a solid night in LA as the rebounded from a fairly ugly loss the other night in Nashville. Adam Lowry, Brandon Tanev, Matthieu Perreault and Andrew Copp all had fine efforts in the win. The Jets did get into penalty trouble in the third period, but Mason and the penalty kill held strong.
If you stayed up late for the action, who did you like in the game? How awkward is American Thanksgiving going to be in the Lowry home tomorrow between Adam and father – and Kings assistant coach – Dave?
The Jets now have 13 wins on the season and are in a playoff spot at the well known mythical “American Thanksgiving” point of the season where it’s almost a sure thing that teams in a playoff spot now remain there at the end of the season.
So, do you believe they are indeed a playoff team? Do you #BelieveInTheJets?
