With Michigan kicking off their NCAA season, now every Jets prospect has had game action to begin 2015-2016. In this Jets prospects update we’ll take a look at the strong starts for 2015 draftees and the continued offensive struggles of the Manitoba Moose.

AHL

The Moose could only muster one goal in two games against the Ontario Reign this week. While the Reign are essentially the Reign-ing Calder Cup Champions, the Moose were also outshot 69-37 and really dominated over the course of both games. Once again goaltending was the only thing standing between the Moose and couple of blowout losses as Connor Hellebuyck was fantastic especially in the game on Saturday.
For the one goal that was scored it was a neat little tic-tac-toe play on the PP from Kichton to De Leo with Cormier finishing it off in front of the net.
CHL
Brendan Lemieux will likely be waiting some time to record his first point of the OHL season as he was handed an indefinite suspension, pending a review, for a check to the head in his fourth game of the season. Seeing as Lemieux is a repeat offender it may be quite a while before he’ll be able to get back into the Colts lineup.
Gennaro picked up two goals and an assist this past week in four games played.
Jansen Harkins picked up an assist in two games, he and the entire Prince George Cougars team continue to have early season troubles with offense.
Michael Spacek kept up his hot play with a goal and four assists in four games played. Unfortunately though he wasn’t able to record anything in his most recent game so his point streak, dating back to the beginning of the season, was ended at 10.
Nogier also chipped in an assist for Red Deer in those same four games played as Spacek.
NCAA
Recent first rounder Kyle Connor got off to a strong start to the season putting up three goals and one assist in two games played. Connor is skating on the first line as a freshman and if he can continue his impressive early play he may end up as a one and done at Michigan a la Jacob Trouba.
The Jets second first rounder from the past season Jack Roslovic also had a strong weekend with two goals and an assist in a two game sweep of rival Ohio state.
Mason Appleton managed an assist on one of the only two goals scored by Michigan State in their two games against Denver this past weekend. Appleton has been playing heavy minutes for MSU to start and has had an impressive showing to this point.
C.J. Franklin was unable to record any points as Minnesota State was shut out in both of their games over the weekend.
Erik Foley made it into his first game of the season after sitting out due to an injury sustained in the pre-season, but was unable to record any points in a Providence win.
Tucker Poolman recorded two assists on the power play in two North Dakota wins.
Jack Glover was held pointless in two games for Minnesota.
Jamie Phillips allowed 1 of 31 in a win and 3 of 29 in a loss as Michigan Tech split their weekend series with Ferris state.
Europe
Sami Niku was able to chip in an assist in three games played while maintaining steady ice time with JYP.
Kraskovsky added a few PIMS but no points in four games played for Lokomotiv. His Ice time continues to rise however which should be looked at as a positive sign.
Ivan Telegin was unable to record a point in two games played.
Other
Marcus Karlstrom recorded no points in two games played for Austin in the NAHL.
