Jets Prospect Update – March 1st

The Moose saw their offense come alive for one game, an unfortunate injury could spell the end of a players season, and Kyle Connor continued to do Kyle Connor things. We touch on all this and more in this weeks Jets prospects update.

The Moose went one and two in three games this week but managed to keep the loses close and win big once scoring seven goals in a game for the first time this season in a 7-2 win. 

Leading the way this weekend among the Moose prospects was Austen Brassard (2G, 2A) who is really putting together a nice season here in his third in the AHL after being much more of a bit player previously. Also scoring for the Moose were Thomas Raffl (2G), J.C. Lipon (2G), Josh Morrissey (2A), Ryan Olsen (1G, 1A), Scott Kosmachuk (1A), Nic Petan (1A), Chase De Leo (1A) and Axel Blomqvist (1A).

Connor Hellebuyck made two starts picking up losses in both but stopping 53 of 57 shots, while Comrie was in net for the one win and stopped 31 of 33.

Presumably bored of scoring goals all the time, Brendan Lemieux decided to show off his play-making prowess scoring one and assisting on five others in three games played.

Jansen Harkins scored one goal and added two assists in three games played.

Michael Spacek had one goal and one assist in three games played.

Matteo Gennaro had one assist in two games played.

Nelson Nogier was held pointless.

Kyle Connor scored two goals and added an assist in two games played.

Jack Roslovic had two assists in two games played.

C.J. Franklin and Matt Ustaski both scored one goal in two games played.

Tucker Poolman scored once and picked up two assists in two games played.

Erik Foley and Jack Glover both had one assist in two games played.

Tanner Lane was held pointless in one game played.

Jamie Phillips picked up two wins and stopped 42 of 49 shots in two games played.

Mason Appleton did not play this week.

Sami Niku played one game and did not record any points, there were also reports that he suffered a season ending injury though the was no confirmation of the nature of it. If it is indeed the case that his season is done it is quite unfortunate as it really appeared he was beginning to come into his own and gain more confidence in his play.

Pavel Kraskovsky’s season is done as Lokomotiv bowed out to SKA in the first round of the KHL playoffs in five games. He was pointless and had four penalty minutes in playoff action.

Ivan Telegin’s CSKA swept Slovan and are currently awaiting their second round opponent to be determined. He has one point in four games.
