Here is our continuation of a look at the individual top ten lists of Winnipeg Jets as of this very moment as submitted by JetsNation staff. Part one is here where we had a look at lists from four members of JetsNation, now we’ll go over my list along with Kyle B’s list and an extra one that didn’t make the deadline for the final tally, but we still wanted to get in.
We start off Sean S who missed our deadline, but still wanted to chime in and give his thoughts….

Sean S’s Top Ten

1 – Mark Scheifele
2 – Josh Morrissey
3 – Blake Wheeler
4 – Connor Hellebuyck
5 – Nik Ehlers
6 – Patrik Laine
7 – Kyle Connor
8 – Dustin Byfuglien
9 – Adam Lowry
10 – Bryan Little

I think a lot of people (not Jets fans) sleep on Morrissey too much. He doesn’t get the recognition he deserves most of the time. Even more so from the league itself. Given he stays healthy I can see him making a serious run for the Norris this upcoming season. Quite a few players will have a bounce back season, Scheifele especially, who seemed to have been banished to the shadow realm for the second half of the season.

Kyle B’s Top Ten

1 – Mark Scheifele
2 – Dustin Byfuglien
3 – Blake Wheeler
4 – Josh Morrissey
5 – Patrik Laine
6 – Nik Ehlers
7 – Connor Hellebuyck
8 – Kyle Connor
9 – Adam Lowry
10 – Andrew Copp

I think the top five are clearly the best on the team. There’s a clear drop-off after those players as the rest are all solid options, but nowhere near the same level. Laine, Ehlers, and Connor are all similar because of their unique strengths, but Laine’s shooting ability puts him over the top. If Laine continues to build his all around game, he could rocket up this list in short order.

Art M’s Top Ten

1 – Mark Scheifele
2 – Dustin Byfuglien
3 – Blake Wheeler
4 – Kyle Connor
5 – Josh Morrissey
6 – Nik Ehlers
7 – Connor Hellebuyck
8 – Patrik Laine
9 – Andrew Copp
10 – Bryan Little

Scheifele is Scheifele as we’ve already established. To be Dustin Byfuglien is still the best defenseman on this team when he’s healthy, the problem of course has been his ability to stay healthy. Josh Morrissey is right there with him as a top pairing defenseman, but he’s obviously not as physical as Buff (few players in the league are) and that is the difference. Blake, Nik, Kyle and Patrik are obviously all key offensive players, but they each lack in different ways when it comes to playing in their own end. Conversely, I am a big Andrew Copp fan and a little more consistency on him on offense puts him closer or even in my top five for next season. I knew Hellebuyck had to be on my list somewhere but being that he’s a goalie and that goalies are straight up voodoo, I really didn’t know where. It also wouldn’t have felt right to leave Bryan Little off this list as I feel he’s maybe the most underrated player on the Jets and gets way too much flack for not being able to carry a line on his own which may not be the case if Paul Maurice wasn’t stubbornly trying to make square pegs fit into round holes with his lineup.
