The Run Down

The Winnipeg Jets is coming off of a game they should have won. The LA Kings would claw back twice from two-goal deficit and win 6-5 in the shootout. Anze Kopitar would score four goals against the Jets. The Jets would see two goals from forward Kevin Stenlund one of which was a short-handed goal.  Josh Morrissey would also score two and Kyle Connor would score one for the Jets. That was the fourth straight loss for the Jets. In three of those four losses, the Jets have given up at least four goals. In the month of February, the Jets had a record of 3-5-1.
The Oilers are coming from a big 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Connor McDavid has a very casual 52 goals and 118 points in 62 games this season. The Oilers through February had a record of 4-3-4. The Oilers and the Jets are the two wild-card teams in the Western Conference. The Oilers have a record of 33-22-8 with 74 points in 62 games. Where the Jets have a record of 35-24-2 with 72 points in 61 games.
This is a home-and-home weekend for the Jets and Oilers and the NHL trade deadline has past things should get spicy in these two games.

Primary Bet – Jets to win (Moneyline) – (+130)

A $1 bet would pay out $2.30.  I will be betting on the away team to win these two games. There’s no real stat to go with it just feel it in my gut generally a home-and-home series will have the away opponent winning. The Oilers have won four of the last five meetings between the two clubs.

Secondary Bet –Kyle Connor and Connor McDavid to both score 1+ goal – (+250)

A $1 bet will pay out $3.50. Two Connors are better than one. McDavid leads the NHL in scoring whereas Kyle Connor is second in Jets scoring with 27 goals this season. This should be money in the bank, McDavid goes hard against the Jets and might be playing his best season ever. K. Connor scores in bunches he scored one last game it would only make sense he scores tonight.

Tertiary Bet – Over 64.5 shots on net– (+100)

A$1 bet will pay out $2.00. The Oilers average 33.5 shots on net the Jets average 30.0. This is going to be a chippy game where shots are going to be taken from anywhere and everywhere.  Add in the rivalry that has been built over decades and both teams are looking for points to stay in the playoff hunt. you should expect lots of shots.
