The Winnipeg Jets are likely feeling pretty good after their 7-2 drubbing of the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, but things get a little more serious tonight as the Carolina Hurricanes blow into town and are riding quite the hot streak having won five of their last seven games which includes points earned in each of the first three games they’ve had in Western Canada.
The Jets are also probably going to feel the sting of no Mathieu Perreault in the lineup tonight. The versatile do-everything forward was injured in Sunday’s contest against the Flyers and could be out for a while with a concussion. @Joona Luoto gets back into the lineup to fill the spot left open in his absence.

Last Hurricanes Game
@James Reimer stopped all 32 shots faced and the Hurricanes got a couple of goals in the second period and a two more shorthanded goals in the third to shut down the @Calgary Flames in the Saddledome by a 4-0 score.
Fun Jerk Facts…
- The Hurricanes are currently 14-for-15 (93.3%) on the penalty kill through their first three games of their current road trip which has taken them through Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.
- Saturday’s win marked the Hurricanes’ 50th win during the 2019 calendar year (50-23-4). This is the first time in franchise history that Carolina has won 50 games in a calendar year, surpassing the previous record of 49 set in 2006 (49-27-8).
- @Andrei Svechnikov has tallied a team-leading 34 points (13g, 21a) through 33 games this season after needing 73 games to reach 34 points during his rookie campaign in 2018-19.
- @Sebastian Aho has scored 15 goals in his last 21 games after scoring three goals in his first 12 games this season.
What They’re Saying…
Hidden in Reimer’s marvelous start in Calgary was an impressive showing from Foegele, who scored two shorthanded goals (one on the empty net). He’s up to 14 points in 33 games this season, which is just one point shy of his 15 points in 76 games last season. It’s been speculated that, if Foegele could learn how to finish with more consistency at the net, he’d be an excellent offensive contributor in addition to his two-way power game. That theory holds some truth.

He would become the first ever voice of the Carolina Hurricanes, and it is his voice we hear when we visit all of the best moments in Carolina Hurricanes history. He’s been with us in our living rooms for 22 years now.

Last Jets Game
Seven different Jets scored as Winnipeg scored four times in less than a five minute stretch in the second period to blow the doors open on a 7-2 shelling of the Philadelphia Flyers..
Fun Jets Facts…
- The Jets scored a season high three power play goals on Sunday against the Flyers. It’s only the second time this season Winnipeg scored multiple power play goals in a game (The other time was October 17 against the @Arizona Coyotes when they had two.)
- @Mark Scheifele (6G, 5A) and @Kyle Connor (4G, 6A) are riding six-game point streaks, which is the longest by a Jets player this season. Scheifele’s three points on Sunday gave him his team leading ninth multi-point game of the season.
- Winnipeg’s 20th win on Sunday in their 33rd game played is the second fastest the Jets have won 20 games in a season in franchise history after reaching 20 wins in 31 games last season.
- The Jets have won four consecutive games against Carolina and have outscored the Hurricanes 16-5 in the four games.
What We’re Saying…
While his overall numbers aren’t top-ten in the league, Mrazek has recently been playing his best hockey of the season. The Hurricanes have also surrendered the fourth-fewest number of shots on net per game (28.9) this season. Despite Winnipeg creating seven goals during their latest game, their team will likely struggle to create similar success against Carolina tonight.
