Other observations - #NHLJets played good for two periods. Would win against most teams but fooled around over the last 45 games and lost first place. Tough opponent. Scheifele must be hurt. Copp belongs on a scoring line. Morrissey is a big time player.

Your #NHLJets Reactions: Jets Third Period Just Disappoints

Apr 11, 2019, 14:45 EDT
You weren’t mad, you were just disappointed.
Although some of you were mad as well.
On the heels of the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 loss in game one to the St. Louis Blues, a handful of you took to the Twitter streets to vent your frustrations over a game that sure felt like for the first 40 minutes that was there for the taking and then let go of in the third period. Some of the complaints were carried over from the regular season gripes we’ve had with this club, but others wanted to remain hopeful.
It is just one game in a best of seven series after all.
Good grief, my night was already bad enough, I didn’t need a reminder of that. Still, as the third period rolled on, a lot of Jets fans commented on how the inevitable felt very inevitable.
Really good effort by #NHLJets for a couple of periods tonight, much different than we’ve watched for the most of 3 months. Josh will amp his game as we go along, so things are okay. I’d be lying if I told you that part of the 3rd period domination by the Blues doesn’t worry me
Part of the biggest frustration with this game was the Jets looked so good in the first period and that effort, that physical play seemed to start fading as the second peiod went on and outright vanished in the third.
Ok, ok, we get it.. that damn defense did that damn thing again.
#NHLJets have now lost 5 of their last 6 postseason home games.
Was not being sad about game one not enough? You had to bring up the 2018 playoffs as well?! I might need a carton of ice cream to eat my feelings….
Hard to deny he was the difference in game one, still I’d like to point out that Laine beat him three times and Byfuglien beat him once… Unfortunately three of those four ricocheted off posts behind Binnington. Keep hope alive, like these people!
Helly was good. Laine was good. Speed was good. Compete was good. Third period was meh. No panic. Yet. #GoJetsGo
Yup, not sure how anyone looks at Hellebuyck and thinks he was the issue. Looking at you Nick Kypreos and your asinine “he got outplayed” comment after the game.
Final word to Middy who would like to point out that other teams had much worse collapses on the opening night of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs…
Eventual Stanley Cup Champions lost at home tonight........ so did Tampa Bay Lightning. #gojetsgo @NHLJets #nhljets It’s only one game. No one thought we’d sweep them. We’ll be fine. #glasshalffull
On to game two!
