The Winnipeg Jets have signed forward Logan Shaw to a one year, two-way contract worth $675,000 in the NHL.
The 26 year old right winger has played for the last three seasons for the Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens. He was on a PTO with the Calgary Flames this past pre-season before being let go and ended up with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL where he five points (two goals, three assists) in seven games.
The two-way deal likely (if not hopefully) means that it’s a depth signing for the Jets that they can fall back on in case of injury to a player on the main roster. Otherwise Shaw will (if not should) be a member of the Manitoba Moose going forward this season.
Shaw will have to clear waivers tomorrow before the signing is made official and he can join the Jets organization.
Interestingly enough, Shaw was traded Almost two years ago by the Florida Panthers to the Anaheim Ducks for forward Michael Sgarbossa who was a member of the Manitoba Moose last season.
