The 2022 Trade Deadline has finally arrived.
Lucky for us at Jets Nation, we can look to the fine people over at Daily Faceoff to provide us with all the ins and outs throughout this action-packed day, courtesy of their three and a half hours worth of trade deadline coverage.
Is there work to be done for general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff and the Winnipeg Jets? Obviously, yes. But as one of the many organizations currently on the cusp of a playoff spot in the West, deciding which path to take won’t be an easy decision.
After already trading defenceman @Nathan Beaulieu to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and re-acquiring forward @Mason Appleton from the Seattle Kraken, things seem to be off and running for this front office. What move might come next? Only Cheveldayoff knows.
In regards to impending free agents like @Andrew Copp and @Paul Stastny, an argument can be made about becoming sellers at this season’s deadline, allowing the front office to exchange these rentals for future assets.
What about forwards @Blake Wheeler and @Mark Scheifele? Could this front office strike a huge mid-season blockbuster involving one or two of their franchise icons? Perhaps, but those kinds of moves usually happen in the off-season.
Either way, you won’t want to miss any of the action that transpires across the NHL on deadline day. Let’s dive in!
