Get ready… a Whiteout is headed to Winnipeg!
The Jets have officially clinched a spot in the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs that will start April 11.
The Jets earned the playoff spot with their 46th win of the season over the Nashville Predators after beating them Sunday night 5-4 in a shootout. The win gives them 102 points and it’s now virtually impossible for them to fall out of a playoff position.
And what an amazing game to clinch it on!
Of course, we’re still a little over two weeks away from the open of the playoffs and there are still a few things to decide. The Jets aren’t quite locked into second place in the Central division, though it’s almost a sure thing at this point as they are five behind the Predators for first and ten ahead of the Minnesota Wild who sit in third.
But even with the second place finish almost assured, the opponent isn’t. Right now it’s the Wild, but the Colorado Avalanche sit two behind the Wild while the St. Louis Blues are three behind.
But for now, revel in the fact that the Winnipeg Jets are in the 2018 playoffs and it’s time for players and fans alike to go #FullThrottle!
