(It turns out that simulating every single NHL contest on  NHL20 takes a little bit of time! So here is your update for games that took place on Saturday, March 14. Expect a couple of updates tomorrow as we get caught up a bit with this…)
Make if five in a row for the @Winnipeg Jets!
For a while it looked like @David Rittich of the @Calgary Flames was going to steal the show through the first two periods as the Jets came out strong and peppered the Flames net. @Kyle Connor continued his hot goal scoring streak with a power-play marker in the first period, but no one else could solve the netminder through forty minutes of play as the Flames found themselves ahead 2-1 after two periods thanks to a couple of Jets miscues that gifted both @Milan Lucic and @Andrew Mangiapane goals.
In the third period though the Jets forward depth came through big time as @Mason Appleton and then @Jack Roslovic scored about four minutes apart early in the third to give the Jets a 3-2 lead. Connor Hellebuyck locked the gate shut after that despite a flurry of Flames scoring chances, bailing out the Jets of a couple of bad penalties late in the game to help secure a big two points in the standings.
The win keeps the Jets in a playoff position at the end of Saturday’s games, and thanks to a @Dallas Stars loss against the @San Jose Sharks earlier in the evening, puts them two points out of third place in the Central division.
