There has been talk since the end of the last season that the Winnipeg Jets should be a franchise that is no longer “rebuilding” but rather makes a strong push as a playoff not contender, if not better.
As Jonathan Habashi of the Drummondville Journal L’Express, reports, Jets forward Mathieu Perreault minced no words when it came to his expectations of the coming 2017-18 season and knows what will be the result if those results don’t come…
“There are no more excuses. Something must happen this season, otherwise there will be some change in the organization.”
Perreault’s comments came during a press conference announcing a charity hockey tournament.
Perreault also chimed in on the summer signings of Dmitri Kulikov (“It complements our defense in a beautiful way.”) and Steve Mason (“Sometimes, a new start with a new team, it can become a source of motivation for a player. I am confident that he will do the job”.)
Be sure to read the full article – it is in french, but Google Translate is your friend – as he also added comments on the Jets youth as well as his thoughts on what the addition of Kulikov does for the Jets defense.
