Coming out of the four-day holiday break, COVID-19 remains a massive concern for the National Hockey League as they’ve postponed three more games that were slated to be played later this week, the league announced Monday.
For the Winnipeg Jets, who haven’t played since Dec. 19, they were scheduled to resume their season on Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, unfortunately, that game has been postponed due to “COVID-related issues.”
Additionally, the NHL also postponed two other matchups, including a home-and-home series between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche. The first meeting was scheduled for Dec. 29, with the second one set for New Year’s Eve.
All three contests are expected to be made up at a later date, potentially during the gap in February that was originally created for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
For now, the Jets are slated to resume their schedule – again – on Dec. 31 against the Calgary Flames, beginning at 8:00 pm CT.
