It’s been a remarkable return from injury for Mark Scheifele and with three goals and four assists in the three games he played last week, the NHL felt he was worth of being named their third star of the week
New Jersey Devils forward Nico Hischier and Arizona Coyotes goalie Antti Raanta respectively picked up the first and second stars ahead of Mark.
It’s the third time Mark has been named one of the NHL’s three stars of the week. Previous honors came back on March 7 of the 2015-16 season and November 14 of the 2016-17 season.
It’s also the fourth time this season a Jet has been handed one of the weekly honors by the NHL.
On October 16, Nikolaj Ehlers was given the league’s first star. Blake Wheeler was named first star back on December 4 and Connor Hellebuyck was named a first star on January 1 and took home second star honors two weeks later on January 22.
