#NHLJets lead off the scoring tonight.. Who else? Patty Laine! Unassisted right now, but that SHOULD be Roslovic's first NHL point!

JNGD.50 Recap: Forget The Score… Jets In First In Central!

Seriously, forget about the score (4-3 Ducks in a shootout just to make it official) tonight. Forget about that awful OT the Jets had where the Ducks seemingly played keep-away all five minutes of it. Forget the missed calls that the Ducks seemed to get away with. Forget that Matt Hendricks was the fourth unsuccessful Jets shooter.
The Winnipeg Jets are 29-13-8 and are first place in the Central Division at the All-Star break.
Take a deep breath and enjoy that.
TALKING POINTS
- The penalty kill was a perfect four for four which was simply huge in this game and for what it’s worth I thought they were strong on it. Anaheim had their chances but second chances off of rebounds were typically taken care of.
- The Jets looked simply gassed in the second half of the third period and that overtime period confirmed that as fact as the Ducks played keep-away and picked apart the Jets defense to get six shots in OT as opposed to the Jets zero.
- Matt Hendricks has a history of coming up with big shootout goals but it’s often been with one move. Tonight, the veteran Ryan Miller was waiting for it.
- Speaking of Ryan Miller, you have to give it up to him for coming in at a tough spot after the fluke injury to John Gibson and… Well Miller technically didn’t have to make a single save in the last 11:40 that he played in the third, or in the entire OT, but still kudos to him I guess?
- With as physical as the Ducks were tonight, this was a game the Jets sorely missed Adam Lowry in the lineup.
- Connor Hellebuyck made 36 saves and was fantastic tonight, still, that 3rd Ducks goal will be one he will rue and regret for about ten minutes before he packs up for Tampa.
- ROSLOVIC GOAL!!!!
SCORING SUMMARY

GIF HIGHLIGHTS
Some brutal play from the Jets in their own end for a good minute or so ends with this pick pocket from Henrique who scores for the Ducks. 1-1 game.
Perreault MAY have have snuck in a ever so slight elbow.. . Gibson MAY have a future in acting... What do you think?
Ducks took a 2-1 lead on this goal.. A Henrique shot goes off of Ritchie.
#NHLJets even things up at 2-2 after Trouba steals the puck then dishes to Tanev who scores and then lets the Ducks faithful hear about it!
A hopeful Kesler shot from a bad angle beats Hellebuyck as the Ducks take a 3-2 lead on this goal.
FIRST NHL GOAL JACK ROSLOVIC! And he can tell his grand-kids that he got it after a great pass from Ryan Getzlaf! 4-4 game. #NHLJets
HOW DID THEY CORSI?

Matchups are limited to 5-on-5 situations. Tile size is scaled by Time On Ice and colour is scaled by adjusted Expected Goals differential. Blue represents a home team advantage and red represents a road team advantage.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME
For Winnipeg: Jacob Trouba – The steal and dish off to Tanev for the Jets second goal of the night was a thing of beauty. Trouba was a beast all night.
For Anaheim: Adam Henrique – Goal and assist during the game, was all over the ice giving Jets defense fits, and then wins the game with the lone shootout goal just to add some salt.
NEXT FLIGHT
The Jets get the All-Star break off (sorry Blake and Connor) and then kick off a massive ten game home stand against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
