It hasn’t been as rough a preseason as the Jets have had, but the Calgary Flames thought their preseason would go at least a little better than it has so far.
It does the get any easier for them tonight as the Jets will be bringing out some of their big guns at home while the Flames may as well put their AHL jerseys on for tonight’s game.

  • The Flames had made a series of cuts on Saturday to get their roster to 40 players, and after tonight’s game will be looking to trim it down some more, so tonight’s game is a chance for some of the on-the-bubble players on Calgary to make a last impression on coach Glen Gulutzan. The goal is to go from the current group of 26 forwards down to 15, so expect some intensity out of the Flames tonight
  • Matthew Tkachuk will make his return after suffering an injury last week, he’ll be joined by Sean Monahan who is also making his return to the lineup after missing their game Friday against the Canucks.
  • Eddie Lack will start tonight and according to Glen Gulutzan he will go the distance.

  • Kyle Conner gets a chance to show what he can do on the top line? Nic Petan gets to center Elhers and Lanie? This is going to be fun on the bun!
  • Paul Maurice hasn’t bee afraid to mix his defensive pairins around as he tries to find ideal matches. Beyond a pairing of Trouba and Morrissey, there are a lot of ways the defense can go. Enstrom with Byfuglien is an old, reliable pairing which should work well.
  • Mason is expected to get the start tonight.
