It’s Jets Hall Of Fame Night as Winnipeg will honour Dale Hawerchuk with a raising of his number 10 to the rafters (not retired mind you, but “honoured”) and the on the ice the Jets will look to make it two wins in as many games against the Arizona Coyotes.

This is the second of a home and away series between the two teams, the first game of course having been won by the Jets with a third period three goal rally.

You could have excused Jets fans for getting antsy when the Coyotes took a first period lead on Saturday night given what had happened the previous night in Vegas and considering the Jets again looked flat to start the game in Arizona.

You could have also excused Coyotes fans for rolling their eyes and wondering just how their club would blow this one goal lead this time. The Coyotes scoring first in games and then coughing up that advantage has been a bit of a common theme for them so far this season.

In the end, the Jets kept up their strong play against the former original Jets as they’ve now won six of their last eight games against Arizona. They are also perfect in Winnipeg against them since the Thrashers move up north, going 7-0-0 when hosting the Coyotes at Bell MTS Place.

Tonight kicks off a bit of a home stand for the Jets as they host Philadelphia and New Jersey later on this week, the Jets so far are 4-2-1 at home. As for the Coyotes, they had just come off a three game eastern US road swing before playing at home on Saturday and not are off on a tour of Canada starting in the Peg tonight before heading off to face the Leafs, Habs and Sens over the next three games. It goes without saying that the Coyotes still have yet to win a game in regulation time this season and this latest stretch of games for them hasn’t helped at all.

No changes to the Jets lineup from Saturday save for in goal where Connor Hellebuyck gets the nod and looks to rebound from a tough start in Vegas. Tyler Myers and Josh Morrissey both had injury scares but seem to be good to go for tonight. Mathieu Perreault is now skating in a full contact practice jersey but will not draw into the lineup quite yet.

The Jets can’t lose on Dale Hawerchuk night.. Can they?

The answer is no. Not at home against the Coyotes.

Jets win 5-2 .. After giving up the first goal of the game because why not.
