We didn’t get “round two” as was promised by Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn to the Jets Dustin Byfuglien earlier this morning, but we did get a second Jets win over the Dallas Stars within the week as Winnipeg picked up a 4-1 win over their division rivals from Dallas.
The Jets got off to an amazing start in the game with a pair of goals in the first five minutes thanks to Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine. A third Jets goal to close things out in the first frame from Kyle Connor off a sweet pass from Blake Wheeler was all the Jets needed to coast to a win.
The Stars did get on the scoreboard with a Jamie Benn goal in the second period, but it was the only one they got by Connor Hellebuyck as he stopped 33 of 34 shots faced.
