JNFFT: Teppo Numminen vs Ed Olczyk

Sep 5, 2018, 19:00 EDT
We head over to the Jets 1.0 side of the Fan Favorite Tournament today where we have a pair of 90’s era standouts going head to head.
ED OLCZYK
vs
TEPPO NUMMINEN
In the first round, Teppo had very little problems dispatching Dave Babych.
It’s possible that Teppo won due to the fact he was maybe an all around better defenseman, or perhaps it was because he had an extra year of service time with the Jets than Baybych had. Recency bias may have come into play as well as Teppo’s time in the 90’s may have resonated more with fans who may not remember Dave’s time in the 80’s.
All of those reasons are possible, but we’d like to believe what really put Teppo on top was an all-time winter anthem..
Meanwhile, Ed Olczyk faced a slightly tougher challenge in Tie Domi for his first round match, but punched his way through much like he punched cancer in it’s proverbial face this past year.
Back to the #NHLJets 1.0 side of the Fan Favorite tournament bracket today! Who you got as your favourite?
Edzo could be a strong favorite to win this match thanks to his continuing work as a hockey broadcaster – not to mention his kicking cancer’s ass – but man, that Teppo song is a JAM!
TIME TO VOTE!
Our first match of round two on the #NHLJets 1.0 side of the Fan Favorite Tournament. Who ya got?!
