Three out of four of us look to have better weeks than we did last week and three out of four of us have fallen under the mind-bending spell that the Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty has cast over everyone.
Our picks are posting a day late as we had a couple of technical difficulties, but you’ll have to take my word for it, these were made a day before Buffalo defeated Montreal and Vancouver took out Arizona.

LAST WEEK

We didn’t have a guest picker last week and because of that, I’m going to say we let our guard down a bit. We all nailed the Jets win over Arizona (that did kind of seem like a no-brainer) but we all missed when we thought Boston would take out the Flames.
Kyle had a second strong week in a row going 5-2. Sean wasn’t too far behind with a 4-3 record. Yours truly struggled again with another 3-4 week and Cassie stumbled with a 2-5 mark.

THIS WEEK

Montreal Canadiens @ Buffalo Sabres (Oct 25, 6 PM CST)

Art: Buffalo – The Sabres are… good?!
Cassie: Buffalo – I’m biased. Buffalo has recently won back to back and have been improving thus far.
Kyle: Montreal
Sean: Buffalo – Sure why not?

Vancouver Canucks @ Arizona Coyotes (Thu Oct 25, 9 PM CST)

Art: Vancouver – The Canucks are… good as well?! What kind of league is this? I was promised a really bad Canucks team by many “experts” and we’re not seeing it.
Cassie: Vancouver – Canucks are the better team.
Kyle: Vancouver
Sean: Vancouver – I think Vancouver has been a pleasant surprise to many. They have been very competitive and even without Elias Petterson the team has kept up.

Winnipeg Jets @ Detroit Red Wings (Fri Oct 26, 6:30 PM CST)

Art: Winnipeg – Detroit just isn’t that good and in full on rebuild mode. This is a good chance for Winnipeg to get their game right.
Cassie: Winnipeg – Detroit is #Yikes.
Kyle: Winnipeg
Sean: Winnipeg

Ottawa Senators @ Colorado Avalanche (Fri Oct 26, 8 PM CST)

Art: Colorado – I don’t know if I buy the idea that Colorado is for really real this season, but that top line sure as heck is.
Cassie: Colorado – They’ll win just like they’ll win the Jack Hughes lottery off the backs of the Sens.
Kyle: Ottawa
Sean: Colorado – Avalanche continue strong start

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Vegas Golden Knights (Fri Oct 24, 5 PM CST)

Art: Vegas – Did you know Friday is “Nevada Day”? I believe it’s a celebration of when the Nevadians gained their independence from Texas. Or something like that… American history is strange. Anyway, I’ll stick my neck out and take the home team.
Cassie: Tampa Bay – I think they’re the better team.
Kyle: Tampa Bay
Sean: Tampa Bay – Riding the “Vegas is not all that good” train all the way to the bank.

Winnipeg Jets @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Sat Oct 27, 6 PM CST)

Art: Winnipeg – *sigh* I’m a sucker. They can’t be as bad as it was Wednesday, can it?
Cassie: Winnipeg – I don’t like the Leafs. I don’t want to give them any credit.
Kyle: Toronto
Sean: Toronto – On the road, second half of back to back, this may be a tough one for Winnipeg.

New York Islanders @ Philadelphia Flyers (SATURDAY)

Art: New York Islanders  – Gritty may be a great mascot, but the Flyers goaltending is as suspect as ever.
Cassie: Philadelphia – Trust in Gritty.
Kyle: Philadelphia
Sean: Philadelphia – Gritty prevails.
