Last Oilers Game
In a Pacific Division battle for first place the Oilers weren’t able to get the job completely done as @Mikko Koskinen did everything he could to give the Oilers a chance to win it, but ultimately it was the Golden Knights who prevailed in overtime.
Fun Oilers Facts…
- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has points in 14 of his last 16 games (8G, 16A, 24PTS), including two three-point efforts in his last five games (Feb.29 vs. WPG – 1G, 2A / Mar. 2 @ NSH – 3A).
- The Oilers have a 26-1-2 record (0.929), the 8th best record in the NHL when leading the game after two periods.
- @Alex Chiasson scored for the second straight game last game on Mar. 9 vs. VGK and now has three goals in his last four games.
What OilersNation Is Saying…
Watching the Edmonton Oilers pick up points lately has been like driving around with the “change oil” light on in your car. You can look the other way and keep going because the damn thing is still running, but sooner or later you have to know the engine is going to seize up and leave you on the side of the road. That’s not how to get where you want to go.
Last Jets Game
They fell behind 0-2 after the first 20 minutes, but the Jets rallied for four unanswered goals in the second and third periods and got a critical win in regulation over the Arizona Coyotes, 4-2.
Fun Jets Facts…
- The Jets play eight of their last 12 games of the regular season on the road. Winnipeg is 16-14-3 on the road this season, which is 19th in the NHL.
- They haven’t won four in a row yet this season, but the Jets have won now three consecutive games for the sixth time this season.
- Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has started five consecutive games for the Jets, going 4-1-0 with a 1.21 goals-against average and .960 save percentage. He’s allowed two goals or fewer in five of his past six starts, including a pair of shutouts.
- Paul Maurice is slated to coach his 1,600th NHL game tonight in Edmonton…He’ll become just the fifth head coach inlea gue history to reach the 1,600 game mark, joining Scotty Bowman (2,141), Joel Quenneville (1,705), Barry Trotz (1,673), and Al Arbour (1,607).
