As the Winnipeg Jets await their next game, unfortunately, their skaters keep dropping like flies as they placed four additional players in the National Hockey League’s COVID-19 protocol, the club announced Tuesday.
In total, defencemen @Ville Heinola, @Logan Stanley, @Nathan Beaulieu and forward @Kristian Reichel were all added to the league’s COVID list on Tuesday. As a result, all skaters have been ruled out for Thursday’s contest against the Detroit Red Wings.
Following this transaction, Winnipeg now features seven players in protocol – including @Nikolaj Ehlers, @Dylan DeMelo, @Jansen Harkins, Heinola, Stanley, Beaulieu and Reichel.
As a reminder, any symptomatic players are forced to quarantine for a minimum of five days before becoming eligible to return to the team. In addition, asymptomatic individuals can be released from isolation after producing consecutive negative tests at least 24 hours apart.
For now, the Jets are scheduled to resume their season Thursday at Little Caesars Arena against the Red Wings, beginning at 6:30 pm CT.
