Jets’ Stafford sustains upper-body injury vs. Oilers; will not return

Feb 16, 2015, 22:31 ESTUpdated: Invalid DateTime
Jets are falling like flies on Monday night against the Edmonton Oilers.
Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault left Monday’s game in the first period with an apparent left leg injury (officially a lower-body ailment). Then in the third period Drew Stafford left with what Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun suspects is a hand issue (officially an upper-body ailment). He will not return, according to the club.
Acquired from the Buffalo Sabres last week in the blockbuster Evander Kane deal, Stafford has played well in his three games with Winnipeg. Playing a middle six role he’s scored a goal and averaged better than three shots per game.
Hopefully Stafford’s injury isn’t too serious. Jets don’t too well without wings.
