With their 4th round, 105th pick of the 2017 NHL Draft, the Jets have gone back up to forward as they picked Finnish center/left wing Santeri Virtanen.
This could be one of those picks we look back on as a potential steal for the Jets. Virtanen missed a large chunk of the 2016-17 season due to a shoulder injury, but impressed scouts with his play at the Under 18 World Juniors as well as the SM-sarja Under 18 playoffs.
Santeri according to multiple reports is described as a two way center with good speed once he does get going but needing to work on his offensive game. He’s 6’2″ and having been described as someone who prefers to play a power forward type style and isn’t afraid to play a bit physical.
