Along with their top 10 goalies, where Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was named NHL 26‘s top goalie, EA Sports also released the top 10 centres in the franchise’s upcoming release.
Mark Scheifele just barely made the cut, landing as the 10th-best centre in the game with a 91 overall rating. Ahead of him are Brayden Point (9th, 92), Jack Hughes (8th, 93), Auston Matthews (7th, 94), Jack Eichel (6th, 94), Sidney Crosby (5th, 94), Aleksander Barkov (4th, 95), Leon Draisaitl (3rd, 96), Nathan MacKinnon (2nd, 96), and, topping the list, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid with a 97 overall rating.
It’s about time Scheifele was recognized as a top 10 centre in the NHL, especially after a career year where he notched 39 goals and 87 points in 82 games—surpassing his previous career high of 84 points in 2018-19. In NHL 25, Scheifele was rated 89, so this two-point bump is a notable nod for a player who has often been underrated. This trend seems consistent for other Jets players as well, particularly Kyle Connor, who many consider a top-five left wing in the league.
EA Sports also revealed the top 10 Jets players in NHL 26, with Hellebuyck leading the pack at 94. Following him are Connor (92), Scheifele (3rd, 91), Josh Morrissey (4th, 90), Neal Pionk (5th, 87), Gabriel Vilardi (6th, 86), Dylan DeMelo (7th, 84), Cole Perfetti (8th, 84), Adam Lowry (9th, 84), and Dylan Samberg rounding out the list at 10 with an 84 overall rating.
Not too shabby, though personally, I think Dylan Samberg and Cole Perfetti deserve at least 85s, as both have shown steady improvement and have become key contributors for the Jets. Hellebuyck, in my opinion, should definitely be a 95, given his elite play and consistency that make him one of the top goalies in the league year after year. Connor is also underrated at 92—he’s earned at least a 93. Ratings aside, it’s always exciting as a fan to see how EA Sports represents our team, and as someone who buys the annual edition every year, I’m especially looking forward to exploring all the updates, new features, and improvements NHL 26 has in store this fall.
