Looking to improve the blue line, the Winnipeg Jets have made a fairly significant splash on the trade market, acquiring veteran @Brenden Dillon from the Washington Capitals.
In total, the Jets will receive Dillon, 30, and will send two second-round picks (2022 and 2023) to the Capitals.
The Jets will absorb the entirety of Dillon’s current contract, which features a $3.9 million cap hit per season through the 2023-24 campaign, according to PuckPedia.com.
Appearing in his second season with the Capitals this past season, the left-hander averaged 18:57 minutes of ice time per game, producing two goals, 19 points, 143 hits, 61 blocks, 51 shots on goal, 13 takeaways and a +15 rating through 56 games.
Making an impact with his physicality during the postseason, the 6’4″ blueliner averaged 19:51 minutes of ice time per game, posting 19 hits, seven blocks and two takeaways through five games. Additionally, he also scored his first career playoff goal as well.
Free-agent frenzy is slated to open at 11 am CT on Wednesday.
