Following a 14-day quarantine, forward @Pierre-Luc Dubois appeared in his first two games with the Winnipeg Jets, although he’s suffered a lower-body injury and has been sidelined ever since Feb. 11.
On Wednesday, coach Paul Maurice confirmed that Dubois isn’t ready to return to action just yet, and then just a few hours later, the Jets placed the 22-year-old on the injured reserve.
Since Dubois has already missed the last two games, this move won’t prevent him from potentially suiting up on Friday against the Vancouver Canucks, however, it’s unclear if he’ll be cleared by the medical team at that point.
Through two games with the Jets, the former first-round pick has averaged 15:18 minutes of ice time per game, producing three shot attempts, one block, one hit and a 40.0% faceoff percentage.
With a roster open, the Jets could use this opportunity to activate forward @Nate Thompson, who’s been sidelined with a lower-body injury since Jan. 21, off the injured reserve and promote him to the active roster.
Winnipeg is scheduled to take on Edmonton on Wednesday at 9 pm CT at Rogers Place.
