Preparing for the second game of a back-to-back, the Winnipeg Jets will be forced to wait a little bit longer to have one of their star players back in the lineup.
On Tuesday, coach Paul Maurice confirmed to members of the media that he won’t be making any changes to his lineup, meaning forward @Patrik Laine, 22, won’t be returning to action against the Ottawa Senators.
Despite receiving treatment for his upper-body injury, Laine will still require some additional recovering time and there isn’t a clear timetable for his return. It’s possible the 22-year old will be healthy enough to suit up on Thursday when his team takes on the Senators for the second consecutive time this season.
Making a strong impact on opening night against the Calgary Flames, the former first-round pick generated two goals and three points, including the game-winning goal during overtime.
In other related news, Maurice also revealed that backup goaltender @Laurent Brossoit will earn his first start of the season on Tuesday night.
