The Winnipeg Jets continued their free agent spending on Saturday adding 24 year old forward Michael Sgarbossa to a one year deal.
The deal is said to be worth 650 thousand for the season.
Sgarbossa split time last season between the Anaheim Ducks and Florida Panthers when the former traded him to the latter in November of last year. In 38 total games played, Michael scored twice and had nine total points – mostly in a 4th line depth role with the Panthers. He’s played a total of 48 career NHL games over the last four seasons between three teams (Colorado Avalanche being his original club)
In 244 career AHL games played, he has 56 goals and 159 points. He will likely see most of his time with the Manitoba Moose, but gives the Jets some depth at forward with NHL experience in the event of any injuries happening.
