Custance: Jets are getting calls on Drew Stafford

Feb 24, 2017, 12:19 ESTUpdated: Invalid DateTime
As the deadline approaches, Drew Stafford (who is one of our predicted trade candidates), seems to be gaining some traction on the trade market.
While the Jets likely won’t be full-out sellers as the deadline approaches, asset managment is still an important factor. It’s unlikely the Jets will be extending Stafford beyond this season and with that said, getting somewhat of a return for him should be explored.
Stafford has gone from a top-six contributor in the Jets lineup to a fourth line player with a limited offensive impact. Stafford currently is scoring at a 0.30 point per game pace, which is the lowest scoring rate of his career. With apparent interest in Stafford along with his struggles this season; it should be a no-brainer from the Jets end to explore the trade market.
I presume the Jets would likely be fielding offers that include a coniditional pick, or two. There’s a pretty good chance Stafford may not sign with the team that trades for him, hence a conditional mid-round pick being likely.
